I thought it was interesting that you felt this only happens in academic libraries. Back in 2001 I wrote an article on "<A HREF="http://www.ukoln.ac.uk/web-focus/articles/spin-2001/" REL="nofollow">Advertising on Public Sector Web Sites</A>" which was published in the SPIN magazine.
